Harold Dean “Red” Chapman, Sr., 74, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by
his family. Harold was born in April of 1941 in Gaston, Indiana to Raleigh and Nondas Chapman. Burial will be at a
later time in Beecher City Cemetery.
Harold is survived by sons: Harold Dean Chapman, Jr. of Decatur, Jim Chapman of Pennsylvania, Bryan Chapman of
Florida; brothers: Victor of Missouri and Danny of Florida; sisters: Luella Carson of Monticello, Dorothy White and
Darlene Staley of Decatur, Fern Oliger of Beecher City, Mrs. Ron (Ruth) Byrley of Effingham, and Mrs. Dwight
(Kathryn) Klepzig of Shumway; five grandchildren,one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his mother and father.
Harold worked at Wagner Castings for thirty years. He enjoyed country music and fishing.
