S. Darlene Johnson
1935 - 2016

Darlene Johnson, 80 of Decatur went into the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 28th  surrounded by her
family at Decatur Memorial Hospital.  

Services for Darlene will be Monday February 1, 2016; Visitation from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with services
directly following at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Pastor Randy Thacker officiating. Burial will be in Boiling
Springs Cemetery. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Darlene was born in November of  1935 in Bloomington Ilinois, to John and Opal  Hardin.  She married the love
of her life in February of 1954.  They had three beautiful children together.  Twin boys, Terry and Jerry, and one
precious daughter Penny.  Darlene was a true Proverbs 31 woman, and a great role model, with a huge heart.  She
loved mentoring women in her church, leading Bible studies, teaching women how to care for their homes, and
being an encouragement to anyone in need.  Above all else she adored her loving husband of 61 years, loved
taking care of their home and their family.  Her greatest passion in life was serving Jesus with her whole heart.  

Darlene leaves behind her beloved husband John E. Johnson, two children Jerry Johnson (Bev) of Salem,
Oregon; Penny Doolin (Greg) of Decatur; four grandchildren, Alyssa Merritt (Chris) of Blue Mound; Katelyn
Cella (Matt) of Wichita, Kansas; Ryan Johnson (Sarah) of Bellingham Washington; and Michael Doolin of
Knoxville Tennessee.  three great- grandsons, Caden and Austin Merritt, and Tommy Cella.  One brother Harold
Spalding of Lexington, North Carolina.  

She was preceded in death by her beloved son Terry, her mother and father, and two brothers.  

Darlene will be greatly missed by every life she touched.  Her family is so thankful for the legacy she is leaving
behind, and find comfort in knowing she heard “Well done my good and faithful servant” at heavens gates.
