R. Eileen Hardy, 87 of Forsyth died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday January 31, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her
family by her side.
Funeral service celebrating her life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday February 5, 2016 at Forsyth United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be one hour before service time at the church. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery. Memorials may be
made to the St. John’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Foundation Office 800 E. Carpenter, Springfield, Illinois.

Eileen was born in July of 1928 in Forsyth, daughter of Ralph and Minnie Marquis. She graduated from Maroa High
School and was a member of Forsyth United Methodist Church. She had fond memories of times spent with her high
school ladies group the Buzzin Dozen. Eileen married Billy Hardy in June of 1946 and together they were Mayor and
First Lady of Forsyth. They were very instrumental in the Library and the Hickory Point Mall coming to Forsyth. Billy
preceded her in death in August of 1990.
Surviving are her daughters; Bonnie (Glen) Morgan of Collinsville, Illinois, Connie (Chris) Janvrin of Forsyth, Illinois,
son; Bill (Penny) Hardy of Clinton, Illinois, grandchildren; Brandon Janvrin, Hollie Morgan Stoltz, Corey Janvrin,
Chelsea Hardy, Jobey Hardy and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson; Joel Morgan, two sisters and one infant brother.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hickory Point Christian Village and all the special caregivers over the past
three years of Eileen’s life.
