Joyce Faye Haws, 87, of Decatur passed away at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service celebrating her life will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at First Christian Church (3350
N. MacArthur Road, Decatur, Illinois) with Pastor Wayne Kent officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at
the church. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Project-Ava, P.O.
Box 614, Edwardsville, Illinois 62025 or online @ Project- Ava.org. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in
charge of the arrangements.
Joyce was born in June of 1928 in Fountain Run, Kentucky, daughter of Barton O. and Gladys V. McClard. She
graduated from Lovington High School and worked as a beautician from her home for many years. She was an
active member of First Christian Church where she volunteered in many ways. Joyce loved to read her Bible. She
was also a volunteer with the Good Samaritan Inn and the Decatur Arts Council. Joyce married Fred Haws in July of
1946 in Sullivan, Illinois. He preceded her in death in December of 1991.
Surviving are her daughters; Alexa (Rick) Noel of Cincinnati, Ohio, Holly Brill of Decatur, Illinois, grandchildren;
Stacey Noel (Ranjit Aiyagari), Melissa (Andrew) Briscoe, John David (Brooke) Brill, Jennifer Noel, seven great
grandchildren, brother; Jim (Sue) McClard of Gibson City, Illinois, sister; June Bock of Lincoln, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Durward and Bill McClard.

Joyce was a wonderful mom, sister, and Mimi to the world. She will be truly missed.
