Richard H. Kresin, age 81, of Decatur, died on Sunday, December 13, 2015 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Dick was born in March of 1934, in Decatur, son of Henry Joseph and Eleanore Kresin. He graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and attended the
University of Illinois. Richard was a Draftsman for Illinois Power Company for over forty years. He married Norma Jean “Jeannie” Novack in 1954 and she
preceded him in death in 1972. He later married Elaine Hoffman and she preceded him in death in 2011.
Surviving are his sons, David (Catherine) Kresin and their children, Conor and Madeleine, of Denver, CO, and Douglas (Carolyn) Kresin and their children,
Sarah and Paul, of Elmhurst, IL, sister-in-law, Anita Stroyeck of Elgin, IL, nephew, David (Diane) Stroyeck and their children, Matthew and Michael, of Elgin,
IL, and close friend, Audrey Bart, of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives and grandson, Max.
Dick enjoyed travel, photography and family. He will be truly missed.
A memorial service celebrating Richard’s life will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (2727 N. Union, Decatur, IL
62526) with Pastor Russell Weise officiating. Visitation will be half hour before service at the church. Memorial gifts may be given to the Lutheran School
Association or The Northeast Community Fund.
