Julia “Judy” Ann Howard, 76 of Decatur died at 5:41 p.m. Sunday September 6, 2015 in the Sullivan Health Care Center.
Funeral Mass Celebrating her life will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday September 10, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Rick Welton Celebrant. A
visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to Mass time also in the church. Burial will take place in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and
Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Julia was born in March of 1939 in Decatur the daughter of Victor and Katherine Walters. She graduated from Parkland College with a veterinarian tech
degree and worked for several veterinarians throughout her life. She enjoyed many hobbies such as decorating cakes, sewing and showing dogs. And she was
quite creative in designing flower gardens. She loved her family and her dogs and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Julia married Kenneth
Merlin Howard of Dalton City, IL, in December of 1958. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors are her mother, Katherine Walters, children, Kenneth Howard of Dalton City, Christine (Brett) Zehr of Mackinaw, IL, Brenda (Ron) Houser of Long
Creek, eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brothers, Tommy (Marie), Robert (Donna) Walters, sisters, Hellen (Bill) Fortner, Shirley (Gunner) Taylor.
Preceding her in death was her father in July of 1959, brothers, Victor Duke and Edward Bill Walters.
