Marvin Eugene Schlosser
1929-2015
Marvin Eugene Schlosser, 86, of Decatur, died at 6:45 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service to celebrate Marv’s life will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at 12:00 noon, at LIFE Foursquare Church, 2954 W. Ash, Decatur. Pastor
Dave Catron will officiate. Burial will take place in Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service
on Thursday. Memorials may be made to: LIFE Foursquare Church or Decatur Athletic Boosters. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service & Care is in charge of
arrangements.

Marv was born in Decatur in May of 1929, the son of William and Edith Schlosser. He attended Stephen Decatur High School, and graduated in 1947. Marv
then attended Indianapolis University, graduating in 1954, and later attended Millikin University, finally graduating and earning his Masters of Science degree
in 1960. Marv proudly served in the United States Air Force.  He married Edith Lucille Highcock on August 6, 1950.

Along with his wife, Edith, of 65 years, Marv is survived by his children: Gary (Pat) Schlosser, Sharon (Steve) Karcher, Judy (Matt) May, and Mike (Brenda)
Schlosser; daughter-in-law, Susie Schlosser; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Marv was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: William Schlosser, Floyd Schlosser; sisters: Helen Rostek and Halcon Patheal; son, Daniel Schlosser;
great grandson, Isaac Liam Jay Schlosser.

Marv loved serving the Lord. He was a big fan of Illini sports, Cardinal’s Baseball, family gatherings, and especially homemade lemon ice cream. He enjoyed
playing pool, golf, fishing and boating. His family will miss his fatherly advice and the “Love”.
