Linda Lou Shipman, 73, of Decatur, went to be with her Lord at 1:48 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
It was Linda’s wish to be cremated, and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Homeward Bound Pet
Shelter. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements.
Linda was born in May of 1942, in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon and Charlotte Shipman. She was raised by her grandmother, Gertrude Shipman.
She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at several places including St. Mary’s, VNA, DMH, and Home Services in Sterling, Illinois, until her retirement. She
loved all of her patients, and her patients loved her.
She is survived by her cousin Barb Whitlock, and several close friends, all whom she loved fiercely, including: Kathy Allsop, Connie Carlson, Jeanie Buckley,
Dean Beaty, Fred Dunivan, and many close friends at The Reserve at Lakeview. There are others too numerous to mention, all of whom will miss her
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother, her Uncle Wesley Shipman, and Cousin Merle Shipman.
Linda loved her doctors and their staff, and would like us extend a heartfelt thank you to: Dr. Covault , Becky, LPN, and Heather, LPN; her cardiologist Dr.
Chokkalingham, and Lola, RN; and to her surgeon Dr. Rahman.
