Jolene R. Wiegard, of Mt. Zion, retired professor of Business, passed into her resting home with God her Father and Jesus Christ on Saturday May 31, 2015.
Mrs. Wiegard was born in Evansville, Illinois in November of 1941 to Gildas and Gladys Levery. She graduated from Sparta High School and attended
Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. After finding the love of her life, Robert J. Wiegard, had a terminal illness, she and Robert got married, started
their life together. God gifted them with a wonderful daughter, Janine. Far too soon Robert died and with the help of loving parents her education continued at
Northeast Missouri University. There she received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She later did post- graduate study at a number of universities in
Illinois and Missouri.
Mrs. Wiegard taught full-time at Richland Community College for 24 years, retired, then later taught several years as an adjunct professor. After retirement
she was granted the honor of Professor Emeritus. Her earlier years of teaching were at Mt. Zion High School and in Missouri. She was vigilant of the great
responsibility of instilling ethics, appreciation for the great country in which we live, and planting encouragement in young minds. The classroom environment
and expanding student discussions was her professional joy. She was a member of professional and social organizations and was thankful for many friends
gained from these relationships.
Serious health issues were a battle she tackled most of her adult life, but with the help of God, she made it this far. She wishes to thank all those who refrained
from wearing perfume and colognes around her.
Surviving are her kind and caring daughter, Janine (Robert) Lyons, loving twin granddaughters, Erica and Shannon Lyons, mother, Gladys Levery, and sister,
Sharon (Richard) Herrmann Maddox.
A special thanks to all who altered their lives to care for Jolene’s special needs, especially her family, friends, special loyal friend Margaret Chalifoux, who
tripped with her and Janine to Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN. Special thanks also go to Dr. Sebastian Kairouz at Cancer Care, Dr. David and Mary Morris at
Allergy Associates of LaCrosse, WI, Dr Jeanne Kariouz at Prairie Heart Institute, Dr. Thomas Witzig at Mayo Clinic, and Dr. Brook Ballard. May God bless
your continued healing efforts.
Jolene is joining in her heavenly home her husband Robert, father Gildas Levery, and brother-in-law Robert Herrmann, special friends and family.
