Christina (Tina) Colclasure-Russell, 51, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Tina was born in August of 1963, in Decatur, daughter of Mary Turner. Tina had a beautiful soul and those who knew her felt blessed to have her in their life.
Her passion in life was to help others. She was quick to offer her help in any circumstance. This passion led her to nursing. She was an LPN and had worked at
Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, SC, before returning to Decatur. She worked at John Warner Hospital in Clinton, Decatur Plasma Center and Heritage
Behavioral Center. She also worked as a private duty nurse. She was unable to work the last few years due to her illness.
She was a loving mother. Those who knew her know that her boys were the light of her life; she was so proud of both of them. Christopher Russell was her first
born son. He is an honors student at Richland working towards his automotive degree. Christopher was able to spend the majority of his time providing support
to his mother. Kaylan Russell was her second- born son. Kaylan is a Sergeant in the United States Army. Kaylan married Lacey White and her daughter
Makaila. Tina welcomed them into the family and loved her new daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
Sisters LaRea Hathaway and Sherry Durbin (Brad) will miss her dearly. Many people knew the Colclasure girl trio and it will not be the same without Tina to
keep them grounded.
Special recognition is extended to her step siblings Troy & Crystal Evans and to her best friend Lisa Maxey. Lisa and Tina were best friends for 36 years. They
could usually be found together, living life to the fullest. Tina was very lucky to have Lisa’s friendship and support throughout her life.
Tina had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She babied them all and they all loved their “Aunt Teetee”.
Tina was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Mays and her grandparents Carl & Lucille Watkins.
Special thanks to Dr. Kairouz for providing medical care and comfort, DMH 5100 their caring hospitality, and Harbor Light Hospice staff for their support to
