Daisy (Darlene) Scribner, 79, of Decatur Illinois, passed Saturday, January 20, 2018 at
St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Darlene was born to Ruby Doretta
Summers, and Hiram Summers in June of 1938. She married Everett (Bud) Scribner in
February of 1958, and they lived together in Decatur.
Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be truly missed by
everyone. Darlene and her beloved husband spent sixty wonderful years together
building a beautiful family. Her true passion was to be with family and friends. She
loved to go camping with her family, host ceramic workshops in her home and play
Bunco with friends. Darlene was a selfless loving person who welcomed anyone into her
Darlene is survived by her sister JoAnn Wheeler, her son Steven Scribner, his wife
Pennie, their sons Kyle Scribner, Casey Scribner and wife Kristin, Colby Scribner and
wife Melissa, her daughter Vonnie Lamb and her children Chad Kesler, Brittany Lamb
and Ashley Lamb, and Her daughter Melanie Adkins, her husband Bryan and her
children Alyssa Huffman and Clayton White. She is also survived by three great
grandchildren Tryston Scribner, Jordyn Scribner and Kylen Simms.
Her parents Ruby and Hiram Summers preceded Darlene in death. Also, preceded in
death by her beloved husband Bud Scribner.
Visitation for Darlene will be on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Galilee Baptist Church
(3470 Christmas Tree Rd, Decatur Illinois 62521) from 11:00 am-1:00 pm with a
memorial service at 1:00 pm at the church. Pastor Joey Krol will be officiating. Burial
will follow at Weldon Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the great care of
Darlene in this difficult time.
