Norbert “Bill” Fleming, 95, of Oreana, died 427 A.M., Thursday, November 23, 2017
in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in Oreana
Christian Church, with Pastor Dan Perry officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before
services in the Church.  Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, with Military
Honors by the Macon County Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Burial Detail.
Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Oreana Christian Church.  
Tanzyus Logan Funeral Services and Care is in charge of the arrangements.  

Norbert was born in January of 1922 in Decatur, the son of Walter and Helena  
Fleming.  He worked for the Sunshine Biscuit Company, Mississippi Valley Structural
Steel and Oreana School District.  Norbert was an active member of Oreana Christian
Church and proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the Pacific
Theater.  Norbert was awarded Four Bronze Stars for his service.  Bill was very
creative and could fix anything.  He enjoyed going to family reunions and his Army
reunions.  His family was very important to him.  He married Mary J. “Jo” Powell in
Decatur in January of 1947, celebrating seventy years this past January.

Surviving are his children Cynthia Peterson and husband Steve, Vicki Buechele and
husband Kelly, Richard Fleming and wife Cathy, Randy Fleming and wife Diane and
Rex Fleming; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; and a brother
Richard Fleming and wife Pat.

Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary J. “Jo” Fleming, and seven
brothers and sisters.
